Create a Cluster of Information on the Social Network Squidoo
Squidoo is a social networking site launched by best selling author Seth Godin. The site’s whole purpose was to allow everyone to be an expert, and your expertise is not only welcomed, but also rewarded.
The search engines appear to love Squidoo pages and often rank them high in results pages whenever someone conducts a search on Google, so if you have a website online to promote your business, or the information is listed on the Squidoo page itself, you could get a lot of website traffic.
Squidoo allows you to create unlimited accounts (in case you excel in two areas of interest). You’re also allowed to create unlimited pages, which are known as lenses, on Squidoo.
You want to first set up your account with all of the relevant profile information you’d like to share with your visitors. Your Bio page can be accessed from any of your lenses, and you’re allowed to include a hyperlink to your own website on this Bio page.
Squidoo isn’t strict about how and where you hyperlink from your lens. You can have many hyperlinks, or none at all. You can link in every module, which are the building blocks used to create the layout of the page.
Start out building your first lens about a broad topic in your niche. Then branch off into more narrow topics. The narrower you go, the higher you’ll find your lens listed in the search engine because the competition will diminish.
Once you create a lens on Squidoo to share your expertise, you’ll want to submit it for entry into one of the many Groups on Squidoo that’s relevant to your topic. Squidoo groups rank well in search engines and give you added exposure on the ‘net.
Get the ball rolling by mentioning your new lens on the other social networking sites. Make a Tweet about it on Twitter. List the link on Facebook. Create a bulletin to announce it on MySpace.
