Using LinkedIn to Raise Your Client Base

For the businessperson that wants to network with others in their line of work or just to cross network with complementary businesses, professionals use LinkedIn.  LinkedIn is for anyone who wants to raise the awareness of others who would be interested in your product line or unique services.

Once registered with LinkedIn, you fill out a profile of yourself or your company.  This is then made available on the network for others to view.  If you were a writer and wanted to get more writing clients (or if you did custom web design or were a paralegal that specialized in a certain branch of the law), you could conceivably reach dozens of others through your LinkedIn membership.

On the other hand, it allows you to find others to work with on a project you have in mind.  Sort of like a think tank or mastermind ready to be picked out.  Find professionals in all walks of life, even being able to choose from the colleges they went to or the companies they have worked with in the past from all across the globe.  This gives a broadness and depth to your peer base which can be most advantageous.

Surround yourself with experts by searching through the membership base at LinkedIn.  Make yourself known among the crowd by filling out the profile like it was a job resume.  And if you are looking for a job, the more completely you fill out your profile, the more ways you can be found by prospective employers in the LinkedIn search engine.
